Pfft I saw this and had too reply even if it is old. It is so true! And good point with real life, go play a sport if you want realistic. The games are fun and for half the price of a 360 and a third of the price of a ps3 it is awesome. The games are fun and I like it :).

Well, if you have a game with bad (or just old) graphics, I'm sure everyone would agree that the same game would be better with better graphics. You can't say "graphics doesn't matter" just because gameplay is more important to you. I agree that gameplay is more important than graphics, but graphics still do matter.

On the other hand, some games just shouldn't be made with better graphics. Most of the "updated" clones of retro games look retarded.

graphics do matter but stupid gameplay with great graphics still makes the game a waste of time. so graphics are cool to have but it doesnt make the game. gameplay is the most important thing in a game. if the graphics are good with good gameplay then cool but if not then ohwell.

You're comparing 7 years technology difference and $140 price difference.

As expected, being that D2 was developed in the late 90's and released in 2000, an era in which a 64mb video card was a HUGE deal.

Now, with 1gig video cards at hand and many breakthroughs with 64bit processing, we can and should expect more graphics for our dollar and have a right to complain about the lack of graphical enhancement or low bit rate when considering the overall cost of these systems and games.

The fact that you are trying to compare apples to oranges is understandable, you're stuck in the past. But the rest of us want that extra bit of detail. We're no longer feeding in the age of $20 games and $35 video cards. We're at the point where we want high definition and crisp audio. We want to experience more realistic movements and scenes. The only reason we're still playing Diablo 2 is because that's what we grew up on, we started playing it when it was released and we haven't complained about it because it's old, we know that it's not going to get better, hence why we look to new releases to go above and beyond what used to be.
