i liked 7 8 9 and 3... 3 for the snes was GODLY. though i never owned it i have had rom's of it ;D. 7... who hasnt played 7? i like 8 because the gfx were cool and i liked squall. which one was the one with the little mage? was that 8 or 9? (short guy with the pointy hat who ruled?)

anyone know why it was called final fantasy?

I like 1-3. I tried ff7 and hated it. seemed that FF series went too far out there on the Japanime. No longer was it medievil style and lost my interest when the guy had a machine gun on his arm and cloud went for the motorcycle ride through some futuristic industrialized world. What happened to the classic style Mage,Figher,Thief dungeon style game?

I like 7 the best because of all the content that was packed in it and the introduction of limit breaks
all the minigames & all the sidequests and the summons weren't half bad either
also the sound the ultima spell made
they even had ultima & omega weapons
the music was good too
and the different options available to alter the storyline
and the dating scene & the golden chocobo stuff
and well hell it had everything

I liked 8's improvements to the graphics, but it felt like a smaller world with less to do
the card game was kind of neat

and I liked 9's retrospect on all the final fantasy games previous to it
it paid homage to and had references to every final fantasy game that came before it.
I never did end up having the neccessary stuff at the end of the game to get that really kick ass equipment, music was great too like the black mage village song was cool
and the card game was nice too

The only one I've played is VII, so I pick that one.

VII is by far the best.. I mean if it's been remade AND has a movie made after it, it's obviously good.
