3 Red Lights of Death Fix

Has anyone got this 3 lights on their xbox 360? Don't bring it to MicroSoft for $150.

I have a cheap fix if you need one using a household item.

My friend's xBox had those 3 red lights around the power button, and all we had to do was replace his plugs.

but what is your solution?

Ya, my friend had the same problem. "Ring of Death" I've heard it named. But he just got new cords, as I_God said.

150 to bring it to microsoft? all xbox's warrantys where extended 3 years so it should be free but take a month or so to get back.

There are a few but only one does not involve opening the box.

Here is the first:

Wrap the xbox in 3 towels, lay one down, set the xbox on it, lay the other 2 criss-cross on top. Fold them up around the xbox and turn it on for around 15-20 minutes. At that time shut it down if it hasnt shut down already. Remove all the towels, wait 10 minutes then turn it back on. Works 70% of the time but is a temp fix. The problem is all overheating. If this doesn't work I can post the harder but permanent fix.

really microsoft charges 150 to fix a problem with the machine. thats sad if it over heats then they should have of fixed it before they sold it. but if it is as easy as what clounar said then thats cool

GOOGLE, FIX XBOX 360 click on the YOUTUBE video do THE SAME THING i just did it 3hours ago on my friends xbox... it works

well i avoid this all together by having the innercooler with a turbo on it (a small fan pointed right at the back of my 360's innercooler for further cooling)
