wow. there is absolutely no way i could play if i couldnt move my mouse from one side of my pad to the other with out doing a 180... i use anywhere from a 6.0 to a 7.0 sensitivity and i do just fine. i do agree however to keep your cross hair right at head level. some people think that a smaller cross hair seems to help too. i forget the console thing for it tho. (its someting like cl_crosshairsize or something along thoes lines)

Just go to options and do small for crosshair size. I played in CAL before.....only got to IM.

Here's the settings I use.

Sensitivity - 2.0
Crosshair color - Light blue
Console commands:
cl_dynamiccrosshair 1 (I think this is the command. The crosshair doesn't change sizes when moving and stuff)
cl_cmdrate 101
cl_updaterate 101
rate 25000
(also I use a solid radar. looks weird at first, but when you get use to it it helps. you actually SEE the dots of where your teammates are.)

There are prob other little things I've done but those are standard stuff. I use to play in the 5-6 range of sensitivity when I first started also. I slowly went down until I found what was best and 2 seemed to fit my mouse best. I can do a 180 with just one swipe across my pad. I don't consider myself as a pro, but I'm better than most players in cs. Just play a lot and you'll learn to get better gradually. I've played for......maybe 4 years? Recently I gave up on it since I can't find much time to play it anymore since getting back into d2 and other stuff.
