GVBay is Finally Here!!!

We have been toying with this idea for some time now and finally feel we have a workable mod that may deliver what you the member have wanted for some time. GVBay is almost identical to the more popular Ebay except that the lister can choose to make the auction for either PayPal or FD and can list any items or service they choose including Diablo II items.
The PayPal transactions are secure just as in any other store or site you sell or purchase from. This system also has a feedback system as well so buy/sell wisely and fairly.

We have tested the basics with no glitches but feel free to report any bugs that you may encounter. I am sure we will look further to improve this newly added feature to make your GV gaming better than ever.

Below is a guide to help you get started, please follow carefully.

First step is to get to the Auction area. From www.gamersvault.net under Site Navigation click GamersVault Auctions.

Once you get there be sure to read the Welcome message as it has very important information for listing.

Below that message across the menu bar you will see several options. Catagories, Submit New Ad, Your Profile, Credits and Feature Ads.

Catagories will list you the realms available and how many listings for those realms exist. Submit new add will take your listing area. Your Profile shows your personal information such as listings, feedback etc etc. Credits (which you pay to list ) will show you available credits.

Credits are not to be confused with FD. It is a seperate pont system used for listing. The cost for listing is one credit per post. If you have no credits and click Submit New Ad it will inform you you are short credits and direct you to buy credits either with FD or PayPal.

Now to the listing. Assuming you had or bought credits and want to post click on Submit New Ad. If it says "Sorry this catagory closed to new ads please select another" then use the drop down box below to select the realm.

Select the realm you wish to list on. This brings you to the next step which at this point has no options however you can choose a new realm if you like. The Auction option (next to AD Type) is the only one available at this time. The future may bring new options.

Below Ad Type select Start New Listing.

This is what you should see..




When all your selections have been made select " Submit Listing " on bottom of page. From there you can add or edit images or view listing.



And your off and selling!!

Please browse all the options for feedbacks, profiles etc etc so you can get familiar with them. this way everyone can benefit from each others feedbacks, good or bad.

Countdown Bug!!

The countdown timer does not show hours and minutes until the auction reaches one day (24 hours). For example, if you set your auction for 3 days it will remain 3 days until the first 24 hours have passed then jump to 2 days. Then when it hits down to under one it switches to 23hrs 59min so don't be alarmed if it doesn't change soon after you list.

Also, if you decide to edit your listing be sure to set lenght of auction as it defaults back to 2 months.

A Few Notes:

As always there are risks when selling or buying as there are in any other online auction or store. GamersVault will not be held responsible for finanacial or virtual losses that you may experience whil eusaing this system. You use at your own risk.

However, we will help as much as possible in securing your transaction. If you are dealing with someone you do not know, or do not trust, contact an administrator after the auction ends and ask them to mod the transaction for you. We will secure the item before you transfer any paypal funds or FD.

Well I see a lot of inactivity from how many members we actually have registered. We have lost of posts and threads... but it's the same people all the time. Plus, as it has been stated many times before, mostly its the people that earned all their FD back in the day of 2 FD per post and when the trading was WORTH something, are the ones who hold all the FD. So it seems not too much FD is circulating.

On the other hand I see many people have chosen Paypal as their auction type. This would be nice... if I A) had money, and B) my mom wasn't an ass.

It may just be me, but I don't see Paypal being a big hit with the buyers... but the sellers will be jumping over it and complaining that nobody uses it because the only listings are RL money, and not everyone is going to be willing to dish out money, otherwise other sites that sell D2 items would be swimming in cash..

And you can always BUY Fd from the vault store, but thats the same problem as Paypal mentioned before. Plus there could be too much FD if everyone buys some... then it's not worth as much and we're back to square one.

It's a great idea, I really think it is. But there are issues like that that may cause some backfires. If anyone has any ideas about this, I would love to see them posted, and maybe even put to work. This could be revolutionary if it comes together right, and I'm all for getting to that stage!

I think this is a great idea! Gamersvault has done it yet again. I think people will trust this more than ebay because its kinda more like a little community and people get to know one another through forum and IRC. It's a great addition to GV! Keep it up guys! :D

that would make it much easier beause very few of use use only FD

i can pretty much guarantee i will never use FD but i use FG all the time

i think its great and all, but paypal options should be left for ebay. notice how the fd bidding is a sucess on your hoto, while it is failing on HCL's 20 stat anni. im pretty sure a 20 stat anni is worth more than a penny.
