Blizzcon is back and GV will be there!!

After much grief and a constant flow of cntrl - F5 GamrsVault.net was finally able to secure it's road to Anaheim, California which will host this years Blizzcon 2008 at the Anaheim Convention Center.

I can tell you it was not fun paving that road. We were ready at the crack of dawn to secure tickets but almost immediately the site was barraged with every rubber necking bystander alive. Within minutes the site crashed and the proverbial " The Site is Down For Maintenance " was displayed for us all in the form of a figure I now hate.
I can never play Starcraft again. Or, I'll play the Zerg and "KILL ALL THE SCV'S". At that point Blizzard made an announcement that the site will be down over night while their little SCV's do some repairs. I woke at six a.m. to ready myself, credit cards a blazzin i logged in and..... SVC guy again. Did I mention I hate that guy? So now comes the announcement that they have located the problem and at 12:00 noon pst the site would be back in business.

At 11:30 I tested the site to verify only to find our boy looking more like Sigourney Weaver in Aliens..get it? So I went to get a lunch to go so I can eat while preparing my keyboard for the forthcoming onslaught.

12:00... I was ready, here we go...Cntrl - F5 ...wait for it, wait for it.... SCV guy. He taunted me for the next 15 minutes then... the sun came out, butterflies hovered about my office, my water turned to wine. it was incredible, a new screen showed up asking ME if I want to buy tickets!!!

After a few dances around the office I clicked "YES, GO GET ME TICKETS" . Sweetness was all around me as I waited for the page to refresh. Hmmmm, do I have a Blizard Store account? I didn't think so but no big deal, an extra 2 minutes is nothing after the torture I just received.

Made my account and BHAM!!, how many tickets do I want screen showed up. I knew all along I wanted two but for some reason at that time I was lost, what did i want, 1? 5? 100? so I chose 3. Next was to fill out the attendees information. Well i know I was going but who else? I just decided to give a friends name. Now whats this crap? What is my WOW character name? Faction? Realm? I came for Diablo 3 not Warcrack. so
Ieft them blank to match my thoughts at the time...great, it accepted it. Now on to the conformation screen.

"INTERNAL XML ERROR" You have to be kidding me? cntrl F5 cntrl F5..nothing. For the next 2 minutes Blizzard was every thing but Blizzard to me. I won't repeat what I said though I wish some of our employees didn't hear it .

Back to the drawing board, go to the store, select buy tickets....SOLD OUT!!!!!

I sat back in my chair, thinking of all the opportunities that just passed me by. I was going to hand out GV business cards, drop a few shirts we are having made, grease some palms of the D3 developers..gone...all gone. At that time Arcanium called me to see if I got the tickets. It's like he knew I was stonewalled by the very site that we based ours on. After I cried to him a bit he said quite calmly, " ya just keep hitting refresh and it will come up available" Was he a Blizz employee in disguise? What makes him think Blizz set it up that way, why the foolery, Just give me the damn tickets.

So, I took a Xanax and prepared for the worst. Low and behold after 5 tries...HALLELUJAH!!!

Well, in any event we finally succeeded. And with our success comes an opportunity for your success.

Thats right, we will be giving away one free ticket to attend this years Blizzcon 2008 It will be an attendee ticket but sorry, no goody bag included . Some of that stuff will be auctioned off for Forum Doubloons in our auction house. Winner must be able to attend of course, verification will be decided later.

Just added...Due to the fact that many of or members cannot attend the event we have broadened the choice of prizes for the winner. The winner can now choose either the ticket OR the Beta Key which is presumed to be Diablo 3

Now that that is settled we must prepare. We are asking everyone and anyone to suggest a question we might ask Blizzard regarding any game. We will try to get them all answered within reason. You can speak your thoughts here. Ask Blizz

We are not sure yet how this will be given away but I know for sure it will be based on some forum activity so I suggest you keep a tuned eye on these forums. So good luck to you all and I will look forward to meeting one of you at the show, lunch is on me, hope you like sushi

God dammit Cluanar, you had me disappointed when I was at the sold out part . Good thing is you got some tickets. I wish the best of luck to all those who want to win the ticket. To bad I don't like sushi...

Clu, seems like you actually got lucky eventually getting through despite your hassle. That is 26 pages (currently) of hate on blizzard by people who were unable to get tickets because they site was down.
