    Bashiok Gives Input!

    Bashiok Gives Input!

Top 9 Categorized Issues on the PTR Forum

    [lfloat][/lfloat]
Basically the top 9 were these:
    -Runes don't drop enough
-New way to gain exp is needed (cows)
    -Spam bots need to die
    -TPPK & Aura stacking
    -IM makes it easy
    -New items
    -Enigma
    -Skill balancing
-Dclone is hard to spawn (don't touch dclone!!!!!!!!!!)

    Bashiok says:
    Thanks!

Hopefully I haven't given the impression that we're not aware of all the threads and issues people are discussing though. (moar tppk threads plz) But regardless thanks for the thread and at least trying to do something positive during the testing period.

A lot of good feedback and some good external sources and guides on reproducing some issues have been provided, they've been infinitely helpful on informing us of how these things happen and even just simply how we can address them immediately.

We're being careful right now about posting replies (ie not doing it) because we can't commit to anything yet. There's been too much expectation around 1.13 already. We're still evaluating a lot of reports, a lot of issues, new or returning requests, and we'll have to make decisions on a case by case basis for how we'll move forward. It would be a mistake at this point to further raise expectations of requests/fixes that can't or maybe just won't make it in. To give you a small hint, nothing is going to happen or be decided until after the new year.
I also want to impress upon everyone that 1.13 isn't and never has been intended as a final patch for Diablo II. I realize with the long delays in getting it to PTR, and longer stretches of time inbetween patches that it seems like it's necessary that 1.13 encompass everything because, well, there's just no guarantee that anything will come after. Or in a timely fashion. But, there is a solid long term plan of action for future support of Diablo II. There's obviously plenty of room for skepticism, and I can't blame anyone for that. But even with that skepticism I hope that we can get the message across that we have no intention of stopping here.

Upon being confronted about Blizzard not reading the players suggestions:

Actually the legacy programmers/developers, QA legacy team, and myself are reading through the forums. So no, it's not just me.

I'm just the only one that posts, because I am a huge ego-maniac and I don't want people to steal my spotlight. My lonely, oft berated, sometimes hated, dark, sad, pin-hole sized spotlight.
And to end it all he gives us this:

    CRAAAAWWLING IIIN MY SKIIIIIIIIN
So fear not people, there is still much work to be done on this patch, but we won't see any more changes till after new years most likely

All I can contribute is the following:

    1. He's right. They made runes SLIGHTLY more common, but they didn't change the actual drop rate. What they could do is add some "increases chance to find runes" properties to a FEW items, or make some new items to have that property. They could even add it to some certain charms.
    2. Also right. Not only a new place for exp, but severely reduce the exp penalty so that you're not gaining less than 10% of the exp you're supposed to in the upper 90s.
    3. Yep.
    4. Also yep.
    5. That's why I suggested them to severely nerf the Iron Maiden that the Oblivion Knights cast, that way it still returns melee damage, but not so much that you die in 1 strike. I'm talking about 2-5% of your melee damage in return.
    6. Definitely.
    7. Enigma. Is. Fine. All they need to do is add a cooldown timer to oskill-based Teleport and the Enigma bashers should hopefully be quelled. That and reducing the massive strength bonus based on level.
    8. Yeah, a couple more tweaks wouldn't be bad, we see too many static characters (99% Javazons Charged Strike, 49% Paladins Blessed Hammer, 49% Paladins Smite, 90% Druids Tornado+Hurricane, 99.9% Assassins Lightning Sentry, etc).
    9. They could definitely tweak this, especially if they want to get rid of duping. If they don't want to add the SoH into a cube recipe, they could turn this into the spawning item. However, that would end up promoting Uber Tristram farming with 8 characters, and instead of mass SoJ sellers, we'd have mass SoH sellers.

    Hmm...SoJ and SoH...only 2 alphabetical letters off...

All very interesting thanks for the update Mykill, and appreciate your opinion Zoen but what is SoH? Acronyms aren't exactly my forte.

That would be the Standard of Heroes, which drops in Uber Tristram...and thus far has no discernible function.

soh defies the laws of physics... they are full sized staffs it looks like but only take up one space in the inventory... go figure

as for bashiok and his mentality, his words of appeasement didnt really say anything other than "maybe" so until blizz stops blowing smoke up our collective rears and actually does something about the spam bots, the abysmal drop ratios, the tppk, the lags, the crashes, the rollbacks (which would nerf duping) then its still more of the same... lousy management for a game that has potential imo

ty easydoesit for the siggy help :) and thank you Pervy_Sage for my prior siggy

The only thing Blizzard can do about rollbacks is 1, increase the frequency in which character data autosaves, and 2, speed up the saving process.

Well, I think they need to stop killing fun parts of the game, taking away the exp from ubers and cows doesn't promote people wanting to play in larger groups. Also, kill those spam bots. I mean really they have to have figured out how to do it by now. How much do they make off those spam bots? Maybe they don't want to hurt profits.
